Created on 10/10/09, The Maple Valley Journal is a volunteer blog written by Jules Maas. Having lived in Maple Valley for the past 4 years without a single clue about the City fireworks ordinance or who our current Council members are, she decided to start this blog.

A web-designer and blogger since 2004, she has written for newcastle411* , Burning Sky Media and The City of Newcastle.

*newcastle411 was recognized by the AWC with a Municipal Excellence Award, June 2009. It was terminated on October 13, 2009 following the resignation of Newcastle’s Communications Manager.
